The bands are always in need of your help - it's easy, it's fun, and it's appreciated. Ways to sign up are listed below and we typically use Google documents. Please create a Google name and password, if you don’t already have an account, to view the documents. (It doesn't cost you anything to do this.)
This document updates in real time so once you enter your name, it will be there for all to see. This will make it easier to track our needs. Everyone can see how many volunteers we still need anytime they sign in.
We appreciate everyone’s help. Thank you for volunteering and helping out our band program.
Feed the Band - We feed the bands at several events - especially Marching Band (see job descriptions here.) We need your help in many different ways - from cooking to serving. It's easy, it's fun, and it won't cost you. See the home page for sign up sheets when there is need.
Bingo - this is our biggest money maker and benefits all of the bands. Several people are needed each week. It is fun, easy, and makes great money. Check out all of the details here.
Football Games - the Marching Band can always use your help with uniforms and equipment at the football games. You don't need to know what to do, someone will tell you. See the sign up sheet on the home page during Marching Season.
Marching Competitions - It takes 20-30 people to get the Band to a Competition. If everyone would help out with 1 or 2, then we would all be able to see a few from the stands as well. Please consider taking a turn. Again, it is easy and you don't need to have a clue what to do... we will show you. See the Marching sign up sheet on the home page during marching season.
Band Festivals - We always need a few chaperons and some equipment help when we go to Festivals. See the sign up sheet on the home page before festivals.
Fundraising - There is always an opportunity to help make money to support the bands. Check out the fundraising page for ways you can help.
Uniforms - For both Marching events, and band concerts, we want the band to not only sound great, but to look great as well. For the events themselves and for some small activities in-between, we are always in need of a few people to help make sure the students look their best. There are lots of ways you can help with uniforms: Student supervising - just being around when they are getting their uniforms on and making sure they have buttoned up correctly, and when they are done, making sure everything gets put away for next time, Cleaning - if something happens to get dirty, we make sure it gets cleaned before the next show, Shoes and Gloves - in-between performances we make sure that shoes are shined and gloves are cleaned, Alterations - yes a little sewing skills can help. Please take a look at the Marching Competition sign up sheet for opportunities to help during marching season - see the Marching Uniform job details here. Sign up sheets are on the home page to help out with uniforms.
Equipment - We move lots of percussion equipment, band instruments, uniforms, and sometimes props to many events during the year. The students spend a lot of time loading and unloading but we need parents to help make this go smoothly. Working with equipment just means helping to load and unload trailers, towing trailers and help moving equipment on to the stage or the field. This does require some lifting.
Please take a look at the Marching Competition sign up sheet for opportunities to help during marching season. Other opportunities will come up during the band season as well.
