SLBPA Fund Raising Opportunities

Band families here is an easy way to help earn money for the South Lyon Bands.  Shop on AmazonSmile (South Lyon High School Band Parents Association).  Same Amazon shopping experience, but Amazon donates a small percent the band boosters.   Same login as Amazon.  Just need to add SLBPA to the charitable organization.
Also don't forget to link the SLBPA to your Kroger, Bush's and Meijer shopping cards.  Additional information can be found on the SLBPA website.

The Band has an ongoing Bingo fundraiser that is run weekly in the basement of the First Presbyterian Church - this is our biggest money maker and significantly reduces the costs associated with the band program for us.  Band parents are required to work six times a year.  Since the funds we get from this goes to support all bands, we ask for help from all parents.

It is a lot of fun, and it is a great way for the band to be active in our community.   Also for every 4 hours that an adult works, $20 goes into your student's account - plus there are some other earning incentives for first timers and people who help each month.   All of the hours that a student works can be counted as service hours towards a letter.

Ford Drive One for your school:   We first did this event in the fall of 2012, and again in the Spring of 2015.   Our plan is to continue to do this every other year.  This is a Ford test drive activity where we host an event and need to get at least 300 households to come and drive a car and we earn money for each drive taken.   This requires a lot of planning and advertising to get the numbers that we need to maximize how much we can make.

MCGC Winter Guard Show:   We hosted a winter drumline and guard show for the first time in 2014, and plan on continuing to host each year.   We make money for the band on ticket sales and concessions.   It takes about 80 people during the day to run the show.

Scrip:  A great way to shop at your normal stores and earn money for your band fees.   100% of what you earn goes directly to your student's account. Go to and sign up for an account.

SLHS band enrollment code is: 8E9B9L9626431

Once your Scrip account is set up please follow the steps on the website for setting up a Presto Pay account. This will allow your Scrip purchases to be deducted directly from your bank account. This process of setting up Presto Pay takes a couple of days.  See details on how to get started with script.

For more information about what Scrip is please visit or contact Jill Hamann at [email protected] with any questions.  Here are some quick screen shots and a process walk through.

Erwins Orchard

Each Fall the Marching Band performs at Erwins and they also do an Apple selling fundraiser with them.   The students collect orders and payments for the apples, then after the performance the students pick the apples and then deliver them.   Erwins gives us a great price on the apples and to the buyers, the price is pretty much the same they would get buying it themselves.

In years that we have a band trip 100% of the profit goes to your student account based on their sales.  In opposite years it is a 50/50 split with the students and the boosters.

Supper with Santa is a fund raiser/community event.   This is done early in December and held and St Joseph Church.  Typically 4:30pm - 8:00pm.    The Jazz Band plays at this event for entertainment.

We serve a meal for the people that come (family friendly... hot dogs, mac and cheese...) and we ask for food donations for Active Faith.  We charge for the event and give half of the profit to Active Faith.

We also do small crafts, games, face painting, and have Santa come where we do pictures.

See other materials and images here.
